The St. Lawrence String Quartet

The St. Lawrence String Quartet performed in Ottawa
April 5, 2006 at the Dominion Chalmers Church,
presented by the Ottawa Chamber Music Society.
The concert was a standing-ovation success.
They played Hayden, Mozart, and Schumann,
but the tour de force was Shostakovich.
String Quartet No. 3 in F major, opus 73 (1946)
- a brilliant feat of precision and interpretation.

This is the last time Barry Shiffman played with the quartet in Ottawa.
He has been appointed director of music programs by The Banff Centre.
